1001: Computers have memory (RAM) into which programs are loaded from cassette tape. Once the computer is switched off, the memory contents are gone. You can load a program, then modify the memory it's loaded in and in doing so, modify the program.

He scoffs. "That's not a major scale! The bass is completely out of tune!" I'm embarrassed. I'd followed the fingerings exactly, but of course, the bass is so crap it doesn't hold its tuning for more than it takes to play a major scale.
