"VC money is essentially rocket money which means it's not for everyone. And that's okay! I meet lots of founders that do great stuff but VC isn't the path for them. There are alternatives!" says @marvinliao #UnlockingOpportunities @tech_scaler

Would you invest in a part-time founder? - "You're not a part-time founder, you're a founder & we invest in founders." - "Pitch yourself as a founder! We understand people have lives and families, you're still a founder."

What do you think about the tech ecosystem in Scotland & are you interested in investing in Scotland? - "With @tech_scaler there is a chance to do something exciting in Scotland" - "There is a lot of interesting activity in Scotland & so much potential" - "Yes! Open to Scotland"

For @MoniqueWoodard, most preseed investements she's made come from network. She does have a cold email button on her website but warning: if you send a super long email, you probably won't get an answer. This seems to be a commonality across all our panellists. Keep it short!

"I've got a love hate relationship with San Francisco but I plan on staying there for the rets of my life because you get so much exposure to relevant, exciting people!" admits @marvinliao "A lot of people have left during Covid but there's a whole new generation of founders!"
