A common problem for researchers is that their compute might be scattered across local machines, Azure, GCP, AWS. You have to learn and manage each provider, copy files around, etc., which is a pain. You can now use CodaLab to run/monitor all jobs from a unified interface.
After your admin sets up a CodaLab instance (codalab-worksheets.readthedo…), a user can launch jobs and control the compute backend with a simple flag (e.g., `cl run <your command> --request-queue local|gcp|azure|aws`).
