A PN adamamtane for MOFs!
Our 1st (successful) foray into MOFs. Conceived + executed by student Pinelopi Tsami.
Larger, flexible, e-rich (10 lone pairs!), PNMR active vs adamamtane tetrabenzoic acid. Happy to ship you some!

Indenyl ligands are well known for their structural flexibility. In our new preprint, we show how phosphorus substitution can add a new dimension: electronic flexibility through redox activity as demonstrated by investigating a Mn(I) redox couple!

Fresh out from @lisa_kreimer 🥳
We show that phosphanlyidene fragments, [NHC-P], effectively tune the absorption properties of aromatic hydrocarbons. Some beautiful, colourful chemistry 🌈 Congrats Lisa!

A couple of new pre-prints just out from the group.
If you're interested in main group chemistry or the mechanisms of photoredox catalysis at least one of these should be of interest!

Our Review on metal–alkane σ-complexes has now published on Coordination Chemistry Reviews @ElsevierConnect . Led by second-year undergraduate Xuanye Liu as first author. Congratulations, Xuanye! sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Interested in multimetallic complexes? In our latest accepted paper, we show how the hapticity in indenyl systems can be used as a switch to access different multimetallic coordination modes, including a rare Cr-Ag motif. pubs.rsc.org/dt/article/doi/…

Who is the fastest on the catalytic track? 🏁
In our Angew. Chem. Novit cover, Ge, Sn, and Pb dicationic tetrylenes become race cars carrying Pt⁰ catalysts. The trend: Ge²⁺ > Sn²⁺ > Pb²⁺

It’s Novit!! Dicationic tetrylenes [E]²⁺ are fascinating: Lewis acidic, ambiphilic, unstable, and hard to bind to metals. In our new Angew. Chem. Novit paper @angew_chem, we stabilize them and show how they modulate Pt⁰ electrophilicity in catalysis.

Our recent manuscript in Organometallics is featured on the front cover! "Manganese Mania" depicts the dependence of buried volume on Mn-Mn dimerization and highlights the C-C coupling chemistry using our redox-active Mn dicarbene complexes.

Just accepted in @DaltonTrans , more progress in our direct P4 functionalisation work with @TheWolf_Group,
taking an important step towards large scale feasibility.
Really pleased to contribute this as part of the 2026 New Talent: Europe collection.

We've accessed heavier alkyne-transition metal complexes which show σ-complex character, in contrast to classical π-complexation 😲 All held together by chelation 🧪🫂🧪

Excited to share our last work 🥳🥳🥳. A photoexcited triplet Ge that lasts hours and, while being there, breaks a few molecules, including benzene. We hope you like it. Our feeling: there's plenty of space for discovery on low-valent MG photochemistry nature.com/articles/s41557-0…
