North Dakota to the WORLD 🌎
Lucas Martinez went from a North Dakota kid playing hoops to 8x pro champ and 3x league MVP overseas… while fighting through some of the darkest chapters of his life.
On this episode of Swim Lessons the Podcast, we break down how he turned rock bottom moments into a purpose driven career. What it really takes to leave ND and hoop professionally, and why his story hits different for anyone chasing a dream in the dark.
If you’re from North Dakota, love hoops, or need a reminder that your situation doesn’t define you, this podcast is for you

Congrats Naj! This is well deserved.
After a great visit with @DarrenTighe20 and @coachleier I’m blessed to receive an offer to continue my academic and athletic career at @UMaryMensBball!!!
Swiss Army knife player! I’d go to war with Najeh any day of the week. Rebounds like crazy, extremely efficient, elite defender, playmaker, and high IQ. Check him out!
Since he was 5 years old coming to my camps, you could see how special he would be. Congrats Wes!
I’m blessed to share my commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at the University of Jamestown.
Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, everyone who supported me, and @CoachBruggeman1 for this incredible opportunity!
