I have a lot of respect for Jim Thome, but it's disappointing to see him wearing all black at the game today. There isn't a statue of him in front of that shitty stadium in Chicago.

Brayan Rocchio has hit CLE’s 103rd walk-off home run in the Progressive Field/Jacobs Field era. 📊 CLE has 11 more walk-off HR than any MLB team since 1994 (Athletics, 92). MAGIC at the corner of Carnegie & Ontario. 🪄 #GuardsBall | @CleGuardians

This needs to be said. Parents If your son is undersized as a kid (little league-youth age) and is a tireless worker and competitive by nature. Be patient. He's going to pass the majority of early bloomers. It can actually be a big time advantage in the long run. Puberty, the weight room and caloric intake are game changers for competitive kids.

It was great to see these guys after a few years. couldn’t tell you our record other than us winning conference without looking it up or anyone’s stats, but 5 years later these guys still hold a special place in my personal life and our program. Outstanding young ball players that turned out to be even better men. Proud of these guys and happy to see them!

I’m in love with this sentence: “The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth he can accept about himself without running away.”

Early specialization is overrated. Generalists excel over time. Data on >34k stars in sports, music, science, and chess: Focusing on a single field predicts a faster rise, but cross-training foreshadows a higher peak. The most successful adults start off as well-rounded kids.

"Guys that will live by that are the same guys that will run balls out." I asked Terry Francona why he says he likes this group so much. His answer started with a small thing that he believes is at the core of the team's culture.
