Cov fans complaining because Maddison scored and celebrated? Jeez, get over it… he played for us 10 years ago🤣
Invest in your health and it’ll buy you more time…
1. You’ll have more energy for the same amount of time as worn out folk.
Healthier people are more productive. Unhealthy people often complain they’re just too busy.
2. Your odds of lasting longer go through the roof…
How do we stay sharp, powerful, strong and reduce our chances of injury when we age?
Simple… we tick multiple boxes, it’s not about training harder, just being smarter with your approach #leamingtonspa #warwick
Newcastle are shite… however, so were we a few weeks ago, so I’m enjoying this #pusb
Most people’s sleep problems have very little to do with the night…
They’re often created by what you do… or don’t do, during the day.
Morning light.
Movement.
Training.
Caffeine timing.
Stress.
Meal timing.
Good sleep starts the morning before then throughout the day.
If someone is struggling with fat loss, first thing I’d look at is sleep.
Poor sleep can increase hunger.
Lowers energy, daily movement & tanks performance.
Eat well and move but dieting harder or adding more training to begin with likely isn’t the first key move… for now.
Folk are more motivated when they have a goal & feel like they’re making progress towards it.
You don’t need a huge goal but we thrive with direction.
A goal gives you that.
Smaller habits then build & progress you forward.
Floating about with loose ideas never really work.
3 things to consider for the rest of 2026…
If you sit more than you move, your body will slow down.
If you don’t get enough daylight, your mood & sleep suffers.
If you don’t strength train, you get weaker.
These 3 things contribute to your appetite becoming harder to manage.
Be a bit rude not to show off my podium result today when the event was right outside the #pusb training ground.
Looks great Doug, nice work💪🏼
Is strength better than cardio?
Pointless internet question.
It’s not either/or.
For health, performance and longevity, both will always be better than choosing one.
Especially as you get older.
The key is using basic principles but finding the right dose & approach for you.
Most folk don’t even know what their VO2 max is.
From experience, those who do often find they’re below average for their age.
It’s trainable.
Just like lifting weights builds muscle, your ❤️ needs the relevant love too.
Your fitness needs its own sets, reps and progression.
Strength training gets the hype for longevity.
But it’s only part of the picture.
Cardio fitness doesn’t get enough attention.
If we use VO2 as the metric, every 1 point higher is associated with roughly a 4% lower risk of premature death.
Build muscle but ❤️ your heart too.
Strength is what keeps your life fuller as you get older…
It’s common folk want to be smaller.
Lose weight… be lighter.
Just don’t forget muscle.
That’s what helps keep you strong & independent as you age.
Don’t just chase weight loss, protect your strength.
Stay strong.
Only around 1 in 3 adults do regular strengthening exercise.
Yet 2 in 3 adults in the UK are overweight.
Strength training should be a core part of any healthy weight-loss approach.
The goal isn’t just to lose weight, but lose fat while keeping muscle, strength & function.
Your body is like doing the gardening…
If you don’t attend to it regularly, do your strength training weekly… you allow the weeds to grow.
The garden feels and looks messy.
You become the weed.
Stay on top of the gardening… with your strength training and healthy habits.
