Student athlete quote of the week 🗣️

Two years of training. Two pictures taken a year apart. One commitment to getting better. Recently coached Michael for the first time and we won our first tournament together. 🏆 But the real reward is the trust, consistency, and relationship built along the way. Player development is bigger than basketball. #InvestInYou

You can't expect your athletes to invest in their development if you're not willing to invest in yours. Grateful for the opportunity to help coach young athletes at a clinic featuring @DrewHanlen and the Hoop Nation coaches. Never stop being a student of the game.

When you want something bad enough you’ll do whatever it takes. I’m less impressed with talking about stuff you are gonna do, show me!

This week’s student athlete quote of the week!

Proud of my Middlesex Magic 7th Grade group for winning the National Division Championship at the ZG NERR Tournament in our first tournament of the fall. But I'm even more proud of HOW they did it. Poise. Leadership. Unselfishness. Everyone contributed. Everybody doesn't have to have the same role for everybody to be important. Great lesson for 7th graders and honestly, for all of us. Back to work. #NEHF #MiddlesexMagic #basketball

Student-Athlete Quote of the Week “Correction isn’t disrespect. Sometimes it’s proof that someone sees more in you.”

My 8th grade nephew has been lifting at 5 AM, working out later and going to AAU practices. Sprained his thumb. Still showed up. One spin move took almost 40 minutes to get right. He stayed with it until he got it. That's development.

A basketball player can train every day and still not develop. Training is activity. Development requires purpose, correction, progression and game transfer. Training is what you do. Development is what you become. There's a difference. 🏀
