3rd and 8. This is something the Packers have done a lot of that I really like. Quicker concept to one side with a mini dagger concept working into the QB's vision
I also like the switch release up top to let Lemon push the DB outside before breaking in

Jack Strand has been taking first team reps at QB for the Falcons.
Who is Jack Strand? Glad you asked! I scoured for MSU Moorhead film during the draft process and broke down the D2 QB during our QB prospect preview show. Here’s the clip.

"There is nothing wrong with having tendencies.
Anything you do well is going to have a certain level of predictability... Make your opponent prove they can stop a strength before you change what you do just to go against your tendencies.
A world of difference exists between being predictable because you are unaware of a tendency and doing what you do best."

There is Play Action Pass and there is Run Action Pass.
Texas HC Steve Sarkisian - Top Scheme Addition From Coaching in the NFL (Play Action)
- "I think the value of the play action pass. I really felt like college football had gotten into a world of shotgun run game with RPOs. And then if it wasn't that, it was just dropback pass, get in empty, spread people out and throw the ball around."
- "I do think there is a lot of value in the play action pass. Because it's a lot easier to score when you get yards in chunks, when you create explosive plays. And one of the ways we brought back from the NFL was the play action pass."
Case in point: you can’t simply copy someone’s scheme and expect to achieve the same level of success.
Defenses will never cease to evolve to what you are doing.
The difference maker is the ability to continually find quality answers to problems presented by defenses.
Cam Newton displays many elements of GOATA:
- Tail back, crown forward
- Egg shell heels
- Inner ankle bone high
- Pressure wave from back to front
- Lead leg bow
- Back heal away
- Head in the column
Precision execution on a deep out.
QB: Rhythm 3-step, hold the Will with eyes, ball on the o/s shoulder
WR: Spray release, 6-step Stick & Roll, foot down head around, shave down out of the break

There’s certain throwing variations I love to use during specific throwing phases:
-Early Offseason
-Rehab Progressions
-First stage in cleaning up rotational issues

When someone who comes in, connects the dots for you, and suddenly everything makes sense. 👇
From a reductionist lens, energy and direction are the two factors I care about. Reducing the throw to its two real outputs: how much energy goes into the ball, and where it's going. This an outcome frame, not a mechanical frame.

Chicago’s early down play action rate was 24% in 2024, which ranked #30.
Johnson increased it to 44% in 2025 (#2).
Chicago’s pre-snap motion rate was 47% in 2024, which ranked #20.
Johnson increased it to 61% in 2025 (#7).
Chicago’s shotgun rate was 71% in 2024, which ranked #16.
Johnson dropped it to 52% in 2025 (#28).
Chicago’s 11 personnel usage was 72% in 2024, which ranked #7.
Johnson dropped it to 52% in 2025 (#23).
And Chicago’s 11 personnel usage in 2024 rarely diverged week to week. From 56% at its lowest to 85% at its high point. Defenses generally knew what they were getting with the Bears offense.
In 2025, Johnson was using 90% 11 personnel in one game. Another week, it was 17%. He had three weeks below 35% 11 personnel and two weeks over 70%. Always adjusting and tinkering and trying to stay unpredictable.
To generate the maximum torque, you must be securely anchored.
As the backside unwinds from a maximal stretch, the head, off-arm, and front side leg all stabilize.
3 phases of lower body throwing mechanics:
⤵️ Turn
🔄 Torque
🚝 Transfer
The most efficient and durable throwers master all three.
To the wiggle monsters and lateral drill artists—this is the non-negotiable foundation before any COD work:
The mentality AND the technical ability to attack vertically with full commitment.
No vertical threat = no respect = no space to wiggle.
Get violent north-south first.
