This city lives and dies with our Thunder. We support them on the court, as representatives of our city off the court, and as people that feel as familiar to us as our friends and neighbors. They’re our guys. It’s been a thrill for all of us to have JDub back on the court this season. His terrible injury tonight came just a minute or so after he had us all out of our seats for one of his signature moments. We’ll now have to hang on to that moment for awhile. Our whole city will have JDub in our thoughts and prayers as he deals with this adversity and as he makes his way through his recovery. We are also thinking of his teammates Cason Wallace and Jaylin Williams, who also left the game tonight with injuries. I took these pictures tonight. We can’t wait till the day @jdubwttp levitates above the court again with ease. We’ll be there to cheer his return, however long it takes.

Sometimes the torch-passing between NBA franchise players can be ugly or difficult. I asked Shai Gilgeous-Alexander about his relationship with Russell Westbrook as two Thunder icons. “He's honestly just like a great human despite what people have said about him. Russ is amazing. He's always been a phone call away if I needed something, if I needed to bounce something off of him, if I needed some advice, like he's the real deal. He's an A+ human. A+ basketball player. Like, it doesn't get better than Russ. That's my guy and he had a great career and sad to see him go.”

SGA on Russell Westbrook: “Russ is like Oklahoma's baby, so I don't think there'll ever be another. He was their first guy. You feel him in the streets. Russ is everywhere. He’s a pioneer for what we stand on.”

Let me tell you something: This SOB has PLENTY of chickens. The difference is @JoeyMcGuireTTU. Money is money, but football is still football!
Arkansas super booster John Tyson talking about the new faces of NIL. People ask why Tyson can't do for Arkansas football what Cody Campbell is doing for Texas Tech. "He's got oil, I've got chickens," Tyson jokes, eliciting quite a laugh at the Little Rock Touchdown Club.

Canada is Oklahoma’s largest trade partner. Canada’s own Shai Gilgeous-Alexander brought us our first championship. We love Canada, from Vancouver to Lake Ontario, and all points in-between. We respect Canada, and we value the friendship and partnership between us. This week, our longtime Canadian Consul General Susan Harper (who serves in Dallas but is frequently seen in OKC) paid us a final visit as she enters retirement. Susan has been a great friend to OKC and we wish her all the best!

Hit Midwest City (Okla.) tonight to check out Carl Albert High’s fall preview scrimmage. OT Jax Wilkerson and TE/LB Wyatt Cordray will both be top-5 prospects in the state come signing day. You can Sharpie that. They’re absolute animals, and the #Sooners have offered both.

Russell Westbrook chose OKC when he had every right to leave. -KD gave up on him in OKC. -Harden gave up on him in Houston. -Russ took the Wizards to the playoffs. -LeBron scapegoated him with the Lakers. -Kawhi and PG couldn’t stay healthy for him with the Clippers. -The Nuggets chose Jalen Pickett over him, even though 36yo Russ averaged 16/8/8 with a 22-14 record as a starter in Denver. The most important thing to understand about Russell Westbrook, that only OKC fans give him credit for, is that the only thing Russ cared about on the basketball court was WINNING. I’ll say it one last time for the IDIOTS in the back… Russell Westbrook’s OKC team record in games that he recorded a triple-double was 138-34. THAT’S OVER 80%! The triple-doubles translated to wins. Russell Westbrook will be remembered for his loyalty, his competitiveness…and yes, as a winner…even though everyone else around him gave up on him. And yes, Russell Westbrook is a Top 5 PG of All-Time. TODAY, they should start building the statue in front of the Continental Coliseum… because Russell Westbrook built basketball in OKC. They didn’t value Russ. They didn’t appreciate Russ. They didn’t respect Russ. I’ll say what Russ didn’t say in his retirement video. WHY NOT? OKC WILL LOVE RUSSELL WESTBROOK FOREVER!

When it comes to Class 5A football in Oklahoma, there has been one name synonymous with winning over the last ten years. The Carl Albert Titans have won four straight state championships and hold a record 20 overall. They have been nothing less than suffocating to opposing teams as they currently hold the third longest win streak in the entire country at 53 games, which is only five wins short of the Oklahoma state record currently held by the Bixby Spartans. Since 2021, the Titans have been under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Dunn and in that span have only lost a total of five games., but their dominance over the rest of their class has been established long before his tenure began. Carl Albert’s chokehold on Class 5A has been created both because of diligent play on the offensive side of the ball while also showcasing an absolutely crushing defensive squad that has allowed a mere 6.7 points per game over the last two seasons including playoffs. The Titans appear to have no weaknesses in any phase of the game while also sporting so many dangerous weapons that have the ability to completely wreck the game. One of these weapons is running back Delijah Matthews, last season in his Junior year Matthews compiled some insane stats including over 2,000 yards on the ground and a gaudy 44 rushing touchdowns. The high powered Titans offense is captained by the man under center Anderson Collier who was nothing short of perfect in his first season as the full time starter. Collier helped lead Carl Albert to its 20th title thanks to his ability to move the ball downfield passing for over 2,000 yards and 25 touchdowns while also managing to complete the season with zero interceptions. While they feature a ton of talent on both sides of the ball that often move on to play at the next level, Carl Albert's success isn't just about talent. The Titans have built a culture where discipline, preparation, and expectations are passed down from one senior class to the next. Every player enters a program that expects to compete for a state championship season after season. Despite graduating key seniors every year, the Titans reload rather than rebuild. With their success also comes experience, since the Titans expect to play in December every year those extra games they play add up to experience that other programs just do not get. Four extra games every year helps give this team an edge as they are able to see more time on the field to better hone their skills and talents. The Titans are hoping the 2026 season will be much of the same as they try to further bridge the gap on their championship record. Their program has created so many talented players that have helped them create their winning culture, with Coach Dunn’s established history as a winner and bringing back so many talented players including Anderson Collier returning at quarterback and Delijah Matthews back in the backfield, Carl Albert enters the season as the favorite to win a fifth consecutive Class 5A state championship and continue its pursuit of Oklahoma's all-time win streak record. At 1 a.m. on July 6, 2019, the news broke that the Thunder were trading Paul George. It was evident within hours this was the end of an era in Thunder history and that this blockbuster trade would also lead to the departure of our beloved Russell Westbrook. About twelve hours later, at 1:30 p.m., the Thunder put out a press release announcing that they were signing an undrafted rookie named Luguentz Dort. On this emotional day for Thunder fans, the timing was perhaps less than ideal. The announcement of Dort’s signing may have seemed a jarring answer to the news of the morning. What anyone could hardly have imagined was that the seeds had just been planted for our city’s first championship. Four days after Dort’s signing, on July 10th, the Paul George trade was officially announced by the teams involved, and a second Canadian - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - officially joined Lu to begin a new chapter in Thunder history. Fans will have to be forgiven for failing to realize that four days in July, 2019 had just secured the core of a championship team. Lu would become the longest-tenured player on the 2025 NBA Champions and would set the tone early for the team’s rise to that moment, starting with a spirited breakout performance in the 2020 playoffs. Lu Dort was not just one of the 18 young men who brought Oklahoma City its first title in 2025, he was a key leader and contributor, and always a fan favorite for his suffocating defense on opponents. The Dorture Chamber will long live in Thunder mythology. Lu Dort will long live in Oklahoma City history. We wish Lu Dort all the best in this next chapter of his professional basketball journey, and he will always have a home in OKC.

Tom Brady admits Aaron Rodgers is the greatest passer in NFL history 'there are only probably three people who could do it like him' “I love Aaron. I think there's no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers. It would be like someone kicking the ball — there's certain people like Roberto Carlos, the Brazilian, like the way that he kicked that ball.” “The ball, the way it comes out of his hand, the way that it spins and delivers with the pace and with the accuracy.” “There are only probably three people in the history of the NFL that could do it like him.”
