Research suggests mindfulness training can improve skills that transfer directly to performance under pressure.
Championships aren't won by athletes who never lose focus.
They're won by athletes who know how to find it again.
Another tool is to ZOOM OUT.
See the bigger picture.
Gain perspective.
Respond instead of react.
One bad practice doesn't define a season.
One mistake doesn't define an athlete.
Perspective keeps temporary setbacks from becoming permanent obstacles.
One tool is to ZOOM IN.
Focus completely on the next breath.
The next rep.
The next assignment.
The next conversation.
The best performers don't try to do everything at once.
They do the next thing well.
Mindfulness isn't emptying your mind.
It's learning to direct your attention intentionally.
Like any skill, it can be developed.
Elite performers have a deeper toolbox because they know where (and how) to place their attention.
Greatness doesn’t happen in one moment.
It is prepared in thousands of unremarkable ones.
Daring to be great is not a dream…
it is a daily decision.
Success asks,
"What did you accomplish?"
Legacy asks,
"Who is better because you were here?"
Build something that lasts longer than the scoreboard.

Emotions are based on physical stimuli but feelings are the subjective interpretations of those emotions.
Relabeling is a superpower.
One day you'll play your last game.
Coach your last practice.
Attend your last team meeting.
Don't let ambition keep you from appreciating the privilege of today.
Gratitude and excellence aren't competitors.
They make each other stronger.
Talent may open a door.
But wasted talent is almost cliché.
You determine how far you walk through that door.
Never miss that opportunity.
Tomorrow we'll chase improvement again.
Today...
Be present.
Laugh with your family.
Call your parents.
Read a good book.
Watch the sunset.
A meaningful life isn't built only in the pursuit of excellence.
It's also built in moments that remind us why excellence matters.
Freedom is one of life's greatest gifts.
The freedom to choose discipline over distraction.
Character over convenience.
Purpose over comfort.
The choices we make every day determine the freedom we have tomorrow.
The goal was never just to "play college football."
The goal is to become the kind of teammate, student, son, and man that football helps develop.
If you do that well...
The right opportunities usually have a way of finding you.
Recruiting truth:
Don't confuse attention with opportunity.
One sincere offer from a program that believes in you is worth more than a hundred social media posts chasing validation.
Find the place where you can grow.
Then go earn it.
