I started coaching in college once my eligibility ended, and over the last 6 years I was able to move from “Student Assistant Coach” to “Associate Head Coach”. Here are 4 key things that I’ve taken away from my experiences:

3. Be where your feet are Be fully present, and engaged in the moment - mentally, emotionally, and physically. It’s about giving your best to whatever role, task, or person is in front of you instead of being distracted by what’s next, what’s behind, or the uncontrollable.

4. Things happen FOR you, not TO you View every challenge/setback, not as a punishment, but as an opportunity for growth, learning, and redirection. Instead of asking,“Why me?”—you choose to ask,“What can I learn from this?” or “How can this make me better?” Embrace Adversity!
