💡Compliance Tip of the Week💡 This week’s tip covers the head coach’s responsibility. A head coach is responsible for: ➡️ Their own actions related to the program. ➡️ The actions of staff members who report to them, whether those staff members report directly or through someone else. ➡️ Promoting a culture of compliance—the coach should make it clear that following NCAA rules is expected. ➡️ Monitoring staff activities to help ensure NCAA rules are being followed.

💡Compliance Tip of the Week💡 This week’s tip covers sports betting and prediction markets. In recent years, several college athletes have missed games, lost seasons of eligibility, or permanently ruled ineligible due to sports betting violations. Not to mention, the federal investigation and charges brought against these individuals as well. Sports betting is not worth the risk. It is also confirmed that participation in a prediction market, including a mention market, that involves an intercollegiate, amateur or professional team or contest is a sports wagering activity.

💡Compliance Tip of the Week💡 This week’s tip covers CARA for sports out-of-season during an institutional vacation period, specifically the upcoming Labor Day holiday. On an institutional holiday, out-of-season activities must remain voluntary and meet voluntary conditions (Bylaw 17.02.21). Team-sport coaches cannot be present or provide instruction during voluntary activities. Individual-sport coaches may be present and provide instruction only when the student-athlete initiates and requests the activity.
