There’s a big conversation right now about kids missing a game for prom. Worth noting: it was a PLAYOFF game, so the school/coach didn’t schedule it on prom night, and there were consequences to the whole team based on its outcome. That’s a no-brainer. You play .
My youngest grandson has a Gamecock cross-stitch above his crib made by his great-grandmother back when we had tickets to watch George Rogers in 1980. And this is the most disappointing Gamecocks season in my memory. 0-21 was less painful.
Winston Churchill famously said, “If Hitler were to invade hell, I would make favorable mention of the Devil in the House of Commons.” In that same spirit, I say Geaux LSU Tigers tonight.

Serious question: I keep seeing posts suggesting the NBA season should be shortened due to these injuries. Yet now we have better load management and far better athletic training. What has changed since people played nearly 40 minutes for 82 games in bad shoes?
The “Going the Distance” track that plays as Adrian awakens and Rocky gets his mojo back was what I put on old Walkman headphones and listened to as I “spiked up and psyched up” for all my races in high school. Also what @davidgoggins puts on repeat while taking souls.
Am I correct in thinking that @aaronnesmith24 of the @Pacers is the only 50/40/90 shooter in the NBA this season?
My good friend Tim Williams has written a book, and it’s awesome. I wish a resource like this existed when I was entering our field! amazon.com/Interview-Indepen…
Pretty awesome. From the space race to the “bass race.” Glad we’ve still got @HomeFreeGuys. In all seriousness, this song is a favorite in any language.
To be fair, Clemson was probably most deserving of a bid from the ACC, which should get just one. I’m fine with every P4 champ getting in, but seeding should be legit 1-12, and SOS should matter. If the committee messes that up just a little, no great harm.
In theory, at least a couple of P4 champs should also be legit top-12, so now it becomes the 10+ “best” teams with only one or two auto-bids displacing a non-top-ten. But that low-ranked auto-bid should have to run a gauntlet to the finals. Current seeding is all wrong.
Clemson-Texas has been the best playoff game so far, even though Texas covered the spread. That’s because Clemson was truly deserving of the single bid from the ACC. Too bad that the quarterfinal against yet another team that doesn’t belong will be far less watchable.
Please just leave @CaitlinClark22 alone. She’s not the great white hope, and never volunteered to be the icon of any agenda—she’s just a great player trying to make it all about the game. I remember this same crap with Bird.
Rewatched this last week (it’s Christmas). He’s so good. My only complaint is I can’t watch Harry Potter without seeing him as Hans.
Too late to fix CFP this year, but moving forward, the auto-bids and byes for placeholder conference champs should go. Or put Army in, if you want a round-robin of conference winners. Especially with the byes, there is potentially a path to the finals that beats only weak teams.
Putting aside my belief that SC got hosed, take Alabama. You can imagine a fair playoff bracket with the true best teams in which they win. Can anybody say that about ASU, or Boise, or SMU? Those teams are in just as cannon fodder to remove complaining later.
