Coach John Calipari is absolutely spot on here.
Why would a coach recruit and develop an American high school kid for 4 years when the system now rewards grabbing ready-made pros from overseas, the G League, or the NBA pipeline?
If we don’t fix this, we’re killing the entire purpose of college sports.

👀 2026 6’0” CG Andrew Kettel of Abington Heights put up a team-high 24 PTS, 7/9 FT, 3 3FG in the Comets’ 75-68 win at Delaware Valley tonight.
📝 @andrew_kettel14 is averaging 16.0 PPG through 10 contests, and led the team with 3.2 Dflc/G and 2.3 SPG coming in to tonight’s matchup. We’ve seen his ability to constantly apply pressure on defenses. Kettel plays with pace, creates opportunities for teammates, and is becoming a reliable threat from beyond the arc.
The Comets (4-5, 2-0) break a three-game losing streak with the victory as they remain undefeated in Lackawanna League Division 1 play.
☄️ 2028 6’2” SF/SG @CooperManning28 has produced impactful time lately for Abington Heights, where he put up 12 PTS, 3 3FG in its win tonight at Delaware Valley (7-3, 0-2). Manning averages 9.0 PPG through the past two contests.
The three-time defending District 2 Class 5A champions host Scranton (4-5, 1-1) next on Tuesday, January 6.

"I don't put pressure on them about their shooting.
I put pressure on them on how hard they play, how hard they run, how much effort they give, how much passion they play with.
Those are my stats."

The three responsibilities during practice for the Coach.
1. Create the Energy ( your job )
2. Change the Energy ( and recognizing when it needs to change)
3. Get to the finish line of practice with a Collective Enthusiasm ( we got what needed to be accomplished done today )
