#Eagles RB Saquon Barkley is considered week-to-week with his hamstring injury, per me and @MikeGarafolo. It’s not considered to be a long-term injury.
Patriots HC Mike Vrabel on Bills DB C.J. Gardner-Johnson: "For a guy that's been on eight teams in four years? I mean, I guess he knows the drill."
Bills S CJ Gardner-Johnson said he wasn't going to give any bulletin board material to the Patriots.
Went on to say: “A (practice squad) guy made a helluva catch. Probably won’t happen to him again, respectfully. I say that with a lot of confidence because it’s like he didn’t put his confidence in his best player. … But they won the game, whatever. They ain’t do shit better than us. We gotta play better. And they can mark that. We’ll be back, see them again at the end of the year. So, they better have that same energy. They put up, what? 20-something points? They barely scored. They struggled all game.”

I'm sorry but like what the fuck are we doing
This team is a playoff team without a sell off and if he managed to put together any competence of a BP
He didn't make a move when he needed
Every roster decision came 2 weeks 2 late
I'm not celebrating this season at all on a organizational or Chaim Bloom level
And the players that all took steps - that's cool - they're MO's guys #stlcards
Wake me up when someone he sings or trades for makes an impact in September
77 and 85. Not the ending anybody wanted, but not the season anybody expected either.
PECOTA had this team at 66 wins before Opening Day. Sixty six. The Cardinals sold at the deadline, traded away Dustin May and Lars Nootbaar, played most of the second half without any real Wild Card math left to hold onto, and still found a way to make this year matter. That says everything about who this roster actually is.
Because here is the truth, this was never really about the record. It was about JJ Wetherholt looking like a Rookie of the Year candidate from day one. It was about Jordan Walker breaking out into a genuine All-Star and taking home a Home Run Derby trophy in the most dramatic fashion possible. It was about Ivan Herrera and Riley O’Brien (tough 2nd half) joining him on that All-Star roster. It was about Joshua Baez walking into the big leagues and hitting 3 home runs in his very first game, something nobody in the history of this sport had ever done. This roster gave us more new names to fall in love with than any Cardinals team in recent memory, and that is not nothing, that is the whole point of a season like this one.
It was also about the Tarps Off crew. About a stadium that had gone quiet the last couple years finding its noise again, about Oli buying out a section for college kids because they made the building feel alive. About a fan base that could have checked out completely and instead showed up anyway, cautiously, honestly, but showed up.
So yeah, 77 and 85 is not a number anyone is thrilled about. But this team punched well above its expectations, gave us a legit young core to build around, and reminded this whole city what it feels like to actually enjoy watching Cardinals baseball again. That is a foundation. The record was never going to tell the real story of 2026.
See you next year. Bird szn never really ends, it just goes into hibernation 🤝

It's abundantly clear the #stlcards Front Office have thrown in the towel on 2026.
Pulling your ACE after 63 pitches because of an aribitrary "pitch ceiling" Chaim & Co set is UNACCEPTABLE for a team in the Wild Card Race.
Operation: Save Leahy = Operation: No October Baseball
Operation: Save Leahy is underway.
He throws four strong, superb and shutout innings, and he's out of the game, yielding the mound to Luis Gastelum. #stlcards told us earlier that he would be on a lower pitch ceiling, around 65. He threw 63.
Let's see how they navigate this.
That’s my center fielder! NO WAY JOSÉ
Fire Oli.
The management decisions in this game need investigating.
We’ve said this a lot… but simply the most pathetic loss of the season.
Organization-ending loss.
Will never win another World Series.
Stewart for ROY.
Fire Mozeilak.
