To all our new HC going into their first week -
Are you getting sleep? Do you turn your phone on silent at night? Are you eating?
This week is gonna fckng FLY BY for you!! Take care of as much of the BS tomorrow and Tuesday as you can.
Don’t forget to take time and enjoy. One day you were talking to yourself saying, “when I become a head coach…”. Here it is. You are the culture. You’re gonna make mistakes. The sun always comes up tomorrow.
One day, you’ll be coaching in an all star game with a bunch of HCs that will be the staff. And everyone will talk about their first game as a HC. Enjoy this shit my man. My first pregame speech SUCKED!
I wonder how kids and their parents would feel if one day they all came and dropped all their players off at summer practice and the coaches just didn’t show up. Didn’t call, didn’t text, didn’t answer the phone, just didn’t show up.
I wonder how they would respond to that?
