I want to give a HUGE thank you to @CoachDanLanning and @OregonFootball for having me in to share my message with the team. Also to @CoachMikeLBs for spending some time with me, and to @oozie_k for being an outstanding host for the day.

Enjoy your high school athletic career as much as you can. Cherish each moment, because it goes by fast and you’ll miss it when it’s done.

The tendency is to expect quick transformation where it must happen slowly over time and expect slow transformation where it could happen much quicker.
Glad to see your journey is still going. Awesome effort in the weight room. Good luck Shane.

Which one are you?
Survivor: does just enough to get by
Contender: motivated by external factors only
Competitor: internally motivated to be his best regardless of the situation
Commanders: all the traits of a competitor-with one exception-he brings people with him.

The Japanese American Football community lost a legend with the passing of Akira Furukawa. He was a visionary, leader and mentor to many coaches in Western Japan. He is also responsible for the Pacific Rim Bowl: the football series between Ashland High and the Japan All Stars.
35 years ago, Mr Akira Furukawa of Osaka and Coach Jim Nagel of Ashland High School (OR). Started something very unique and special. I'm glad to be a part of this incredible High School Football journey.

High school coaches often times are kids’ last chance to be held accountable & prepped for the real world
Often times talented kids are pushed through until high school with no accountability, no discipline, & even taken advantage of for wins
Our job is vital if done right
I've had the fortune to spend this week in Kobe, Japan with the Ashland High Football team participating in the Pacific Rim Bowl against the Japan All Stars. This is an unforgettable experience both teams will never forget.

Every 90mph arm had to throw 80mph first
Every 4.4 runner had to run a 4.8 first
Every 38in vertical jump started at well below 30in
Every 405 bencher had to do 1 plate at some point
Embrace the process & remember:
“Comparison is the thievery of joy.”
