You had one job. Planning events in Florida whether its a college conference championship or an NCAA regional or an LPGA qualifier always has the chance for catastrophic weather. Its just not necessary especially during hurricane season. Same thing happened last year I believe.
BREAKING NEWS:
A very unfortunate situation at @LPGA 2nd stage in at Plantation Country Club in Venice Florida.
The stage (there is only one second stage site) was set to begin Tuesday and the entire field is in Florida. However it will not be played this week.
In an email sent to players they were told the course was unplayable from the rain from the Hurricane. The course wasn’t going to be able to mow until mid week and with more rain scheduled next week the decision was made to delay it for two weeks.
However there is important context. One of the two courses at the club redid all of their greens starting in June. And because of weather (over 50 inches of rain) there have been delays.
In fact the course is still not open to the members yet and the first rounds were to be played Sunday by the players in the Q-school field.
In an email sent to players last week the tour indicated there would be areas that were marked ground under repair.
“Areas not fully recovered will be marked ground under repair”
So the situation seemed less than ideal to start, tho a source did tell me the conditions had improved greatly over the last few weeks.
But they couldn’t recover from the latest rain and it left the Tour no choice.
With so many international players this leaves a real logistical nitemare for the players and at a huge financial burden.
Really unfortunate.
Why nursing is an amazing profession. Our sports programs have placed multiple Student Athletes in Nursing. Its possible to excel in sports and health services. #gosycamores
In 1995, inside a small Massachusetts hospital, a pair of newborn premature twins fought the hardest battle of their tiny lives. Born far too early, Kyrie and Brielle weighed barely enough to fill a nurse’s hands. Both fragile… but one fading faster than anyone expected.
Kyrie, the stronger twin, slowly gained strength.
But Brielle — so tiny, so exhausted — was slipping away. Her breathing stuttered. Her oxygen levels dipped again and again. Her skin turned a worrying shade of blue. Doctors prepared the family for the unthinkable: she may not make it through the night.
And then came a moment of quiet courage.
A nurse named Gayle Kasparian, guided not by procedure but by pure human instinct, made a decision that defied the rules of the time. Back then, premature babies were always kept in separate incubators.
But she believed something else.
She believed that love — even the smallest kind — had power.
Gently, she lifted Kyrie and placed her beside her struggling sister in the same incubator. Two tiny hearts, side by side. Two tiny bodies, skin to skin, just like they had been in the womb.
What happened next brought the entire neonatal unit to tears.
Within minutes, Brielle’s monitors changed.
Her oxygen levels rose… higher… higher.
Her heartbeat steadied — strong and sure.
Her frantic breathing calmed.
Color returned to her cheeks.
And then, in a moment that seemed almost like a whisper from heaven, Kyrie lifted her tiny arm and wrapped it around Brielle… as if she was holding her sister here on earth.
The nurses stood frozen.
Doctors rushed in.
No one could explain it — but no one could deny it.
That single embrace didn’t just save Brielle’s life…
It changed medical care forever.
Because of these twins — because of one nurse who simply followed her heart — “co-bedding” premature babies is now used in hospitals around the world.
All because two sisters reminded us of something simple and profound:
Sometimes the greatest medicine
is love in its purest form.

Promise made. Promise kept.
By tomorrow, 25 million American children will have our gift of $250 in their accounts.
$6.25 billion. Invested in kids. Compounding for decades.
If you have a child under 18, claim their account and see how much is in there now.
$250 is only the beginning. 🇺🇸
$6.25 billion. 25 million children. $250 each.
Susan and I believe the smartest investment we can make is in children. That’s why we’re so excited to contribute $6.25 billion from our charitable funds to help 25 million children start building a strong financial foundation through Invest America. 💪📈🇺🇸

I was reminded on the drive home from a 72 hole trip that today was National Coaches day. I did what all good Coaches do, I took them for Ice Cream. Honestly it is a blessing to mentor these young Women. How they juggle it all is the greatest gift a coach could have. #isugolf
Impressive
He’s done it 🥇
24 year old Tom Kim from South Korea shoots a final round 6 under par 64 to win the Asian Games individual gold medal by 3 shots and earn an exemption from mandatory military service for his country.
He flew straight from the Presidents Cup to Japan with one goal on his mind. He hit the front, slept on the lead, knew exactly what was at stake and emphatically got it across the line. Nerves of steel.
See I knew it. Superficial
If you had to choose between new golf clubs or unlimited pairs of golf shoes, what would you choose?

IHSAA's Spectator Code of Conduct is below.
Key Reminders:
1. 30 yards from players at all times
2. On cart path if available; never on fairway
3. Phones on silent
4. No rulings, ever
In short, let the players play and coaches coach.
Your role is to cheer from the cart path.
Always great to catch up with alumni. Former MVC player of the year Thilda Staubo came all the way from Norway to celebrate Kayla Ryan’s wedding in Chicago. Kayla and her husband Bryan are new Drs. In Chicago. Excited for the future. #gosycamores
