University of Michigan.” PETERS: “Where I went, yes… I wish I wouldn’t have had grades. That would have been great!” MAHER: “Right. They are going to no grades now, and the reason given…” BASH: “Just as freshmen or for the whole thing?” MAHER: “I’m not sure about that. Doesn’t matter. It’s ridiculous! And they’re saying it because sometimes a kid gets a bad grade and it makes them sad." [Audience groans] MAHER: “I’m not making that up!” MAHER: “I mean, I know Trump University is a scam, but when there’s no grades, isn’t that a scam too?” “This is not just the beginning of the rot in higher education. It started long ago when they stopped teaching people things because they became indoctrination centers.” Starting fall 2027, Michigan freshmen won’t see a single letter grade on their transcript for their first semester. Just “pass” or “no credit.” The university says the reason for this is to “curb the mental health crisis unfolding among college-aged individuals.” TRANSLATION: “It makes them sad.”
