Dan Hurley shares why coaching players effectively requires knowing which version of you they need in each moment.
“In practices, I’ve got to push for game-like reps so that on game night they can execute. On game night, I go to boxing trainer in the corner with the fighter, pumping them up and building up their confidence.”
Great coaches are adaptable and attuned to the needs of the moment and the people they serve. They know when to push, when to teach, when to reassure and when to get out of the way.
But keep in mind, the standard can remain consistent even when the delivery changes.

"I never look at money or years. I know that if I'm successful, the rest of these things will take care of themselves."
Off-ball screening forces defenses to communicate, switch, and recover often creating breakdowns and quality scoring chances. It highlights timing, spacing, and trust, key traits of disciplined, efficient basketball.

NEW: Former Knicks G League affiliate guard Bryson Warren has committed to Texas A&M, @JoeTipton confirms👍

Attacking space is where real offense starts. Paint touches off the drive force the defense to collapse, trigger rotations, and open gaps all over the floor. That’s where advantage basketball shows up, one more passes become available, and good shots turn into great shots.
Ball screens don’t create the advantage… the guard does. If your defender can slip through the screen, the advantage is gone. But when you lock them on your back, force the chase, and keep the big in a decision… that’s when the offense opens up. Patience. Pace. Position.

“Young people, you need to bet on yourself.
If you think you're that good, you don't need a handout. You just allow your work to speak for itself."
Do not ask to be chosen.
