The idea that a quarterback can go outside of the pocket, run for yardage and just slide at any moment and the defender is supposed to be prepared for him to slide while simultaneously trying to stop him from gaining yards is the most asinine thing about the modern era of football. If you’re a QB running with the ball defenders should be able to hit you like anyone else.
