New paper! In memory and sensorial systems, neural ensembles tend to drift across several days, but the underlying mechanisms are unclear. We modelled excitability in a recurrent neural network to explain drift and time-stamping of neural ensembles. elifesciences.org/articles/8… 1/5

Vezha Boboeva, Alberto Pezzotta, @ClopathLab, and @AthenaAkrami describe how neural circuits can give rise to both recency and central tendency biases at the same time through a single mechanism. Read the story: sainsburywellcome.org/web/re… Image by Julia Kuhl @mulesome

Please check out our study on VIP interneurons & attention, now published in @NeuroCellPress. Particularly proud that this first paper from the lab is essentially a negative result! cell.com/neuron/fulltext/S08… Led by the amazing @DMyersJoseph with @k47h4 @marianf_otero & @ClopathLab
Attention can enhance responses in sensory areas, and this is a pretty fundamental cognitive process, but how does this happen? Check out the latest preprint from our lab which tackles this question, led by the amazing Dylan Myers-Joseph! @DMyersJoseph biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

(1/5) Reactivation of neurons in the hippocampus is important for memory. So does reactivation induce or modulate synaptic plasticity? This is the question we set out to answer in our latest study published in @eLife in collaboration with @ClopathLab. The answer is yes but..

🚨First preprint from the lab!! All credit goes to @cesca_gst & @HernyMV who co-led this project. tinyurl.com/47w98a6b We show that movement-related striatal dopamine signals encode an action prediction error, a value free teaching signal. 🧵👇 1/25

Please check out our paper now published @NeuroCellPress. We show that learning and attention rely on distinct mechanisms, see below for the tweetprint! cell.com/neuron/fulltext/S08…

Work by a fantastic postdoc, Tristan Geiller, @tgeiller. Great collaboration: Sadra Sadeh and Claudia Clopath #ClopathLab, Heike Blockus and Franck Polleux #fpolleux, Andy Murray @andymurray000, and Balazs Rozsa @Femtonics and our lab: Sebi Rolotti, Bert Vancura, Adrian Negrean!
How many neurons does it take to form a memory? Using cutting-edge techniques, @tgeiller and the @attila_losonczy lab, observed small circuits of cells in the hippocampus forming a spatial map, in real time. The study was published today, in @nature. bit.ly/3xGzEbI

Happy to share my new paper, out today in @Nature. I developed a single-cell approach to trace inputs and manipulate the activity of individual place cells in CA1, which revealed how neurons are embedded into specific and recurrent subcircuits. nature.com/articles/s41586-0…
