The primary issue that strikes me is that you perceive Christian discipleship as a burden.
This is NOT the Catholic view.
I look forward to going to Mass.
I want to be like Christ; Christ went around doing good therefore, I strive to do likewise.
I look forward to receiving the Eucharist. I find confession healing.
Yes, sometimes, I ask myself, "Am I doing enough?" but not as you implied. I am not calculating whether I have fulfilled the bare minimum necessary to enter Heaven.
For all the evangelical rhetoric about personal relationship with Christ, it is in fact your framing of Christianity that is fundamentally transactional-- I profess X, and in return, I obtain fire insurance.
The heart of Christian faith is not escaping Hell but being transformed into the likeness of Christ.
I am fond of the East's term for this--Theosis, participation in the divine life.
When love is the starting point, even labor is not labor. "Jacob worked seven years for Rachel, yet they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her" (Genesis 29:20).
Through the lens of love, the yoke is easy; the burden is light (Matthew 11:30).

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

THE SAINTS BLOCK THE PUNT!!
Steve Gleason came flying in for a perfect block leading to Curtis DeLoatch falling on it in the end zone.

A woman walked into Fulton Sheen’s confessional and told him:
“I’m only here to kill time.”
She admitted she was a prostitute.
Then she revealed something even darker.
She claimed that after being arrested and sent to live with nuns, she had made a pact with the devil: if she made nine sacrilegious Communions, she believed he would help her escape.
Then she ran out of the church.
Sheen could have let her go.
Instead, he asked every penitent who came to confession that night to pray a Rosary for her conversion.
When the confessions ended, Sheen remained before the Blessed Sacrament through the night, praying for her.
Then, as the sun began to rise…
she came back.
She returned to the confessional.
Sheen heard her confession.
And a soul that had seemed completely lost was reconciled to God.
Sheen understood something many of us forget:
No soul is beyond the reach of God’s mercy.
Sometimes the greatest thing you can do for a sinner is refuse to stop praying for them.

Dearest mother —
We have returned to our basecamp after a long march following a defeat to the sad Satan unit. Perhaps their victory will finally give them some much-needed joy. And yet, we have no time to wallow. A Georgia unit who believes themselves to be wasps is seeking battle and on the move. I have ordered the men to make buzzing sounds as they drill to better prepare for the incoming clash.

Man what an exhausting list to sift through. If only there was one visible unified Christian church that was accessible almost anywhere in the world. Like a "universal" church you know? Ooh, and what if it went all the way back to the apostles? Man that would be amazing. Oh well
We can’t save America if Americans aren’t saved. This Sunday, go to church. Here are some reliable denominations:
- REC (Reformed Anglican)
- CREC (Reformed/Presbyterian/Anglican)
- ACNA (some good some not)
- OPC (Presbyterian)
- PCA (some good some not)
- LCMS (Lutheran)
- 1689 Reformed Baptist Churches
Most have church locators on their websites.

Double Stuf Oreos aren't double stuffed. A high school math teacher in Queensbury, New York had his class weigh 10 of each kind, then weigh the plain wafers separately and subtract them out. Double Stuf came in at 1.86 times the filling of a regular Oreo. Mega Stuf came in at 2.68.
Nabisco said the recipe calls for double the creme and they weren't familiar with what happened in the classroom. Insider ran the same test later and got about the same number.
