Don Mattingly came in and turned the entire Phillies season around. If the Mariners were smart (they aren’t), they would jump all over this (they won’t). Plus, how great would it be for Donnie Baseball to finally win a ring with the team that kept it from happening for him as a player?

9:00 AM Sunrise is more insane than most people realize. That's 1.5 class periods into school before the sun even rises. 2 hours into most blue collar workdays. That extra hour of daylight (in cold winter when everyone is inside anyway) from 5-6p isn't worth it at all.

The U.S. House will vote this week on whether or not to make daylight saving time permanent. Essentially, we would not change the clocks again (no "falling back"). As I've mentioned over the years, below are 3 options and how they would look in Indianapolis, IN: current system, year-round daylight saving time & year-round standard time. Year-round daylight saving time would result in a 9:02 AM sunrise and 6:23 PM sunset on the winter solstice.
