In the next few months I will be screening pastures species (hopefully around 30-40 species) with (many) herbicides modes of action (from the serradellas to clovers, vetch to triticale, cereal rye, oats, cocksfoot, kikuiu etc.). 👇🧵

Adding a pasture phase to a cropping rotation can take weeds by surprise 🌱
A one-in-three-year break away from wheat, using serradella, was enough to reduce the ryegrass seed bank by over 50% in trials run by @Mike_AHRI, @ykhalil2013 and @robertexrl.

This was our first year at growing Frano Serradella. It will be a fantastic addition to our pastures particularly on our light country which will help make them more productive. Harvest is drawing to a close and from our team to your’s have a safe and merry Christmas

Grazing vetch mixes sown in March ready for termination.
Spray fallow then double knock @WeedSmartAU
Yet again less disease in vetch as a companion compared to when sown alone.
Low cost N and grass weed control, leaves a strong legacy for the rotation @hugh_cruikshank

I know I’m asking for a miracle but hey let’s test Twitter out. Have a very tired grain tipper that needed a lay down that I’m trying to replace before harvest. 32-34ft that will take a 9:1 spread tri dolly preferably on 10 stud 285 PCD wheels. Retweets appreciated. Will travel

All sheep/animal health gurus. Found a lamb circa <week old. Found cast. Tries to bleat, wag tail. Neck sideways. Breathing. Can’t mobilise. Kicks though! Had some calcigol on me so gave it a bit. They are on a cape weed dominant pasture (failed crop emergence) and hay. Nitrate?
