Satellite-based climate data records reach length of more than 40 years and are well suited to show the change in parameters, such as cloud fraction (cfc from CLARA-A3 starting 1979) or sunshine duration (SDU from SARAH-3 from 1983), here for example for Denmark. #ShowYourStripes

ALT Stripe plot for Denmark showing the annual anomalies of cloud fraction with reference to 1991 to 2020 starting in 1979. Basis is the CM SAF CLARA-A3 climate data record. The color of the stripes is changing from left to right from red to blue, indicating a reduction in cloud fraction.

ALT Stripe plot of the annual anomalies in sunshine duration for Denmark starting in 1983 in reference to the period 1991 to 2020. Basis is the CM SAF SARAH-3 climate data record. The color of the stripes is changing from left to right from grey to yellow, indicating an increase in sunshine duration.
