Nearly 25% of global CO2 emissions since 2000 have come from forest fires, yet we keep funding response and recovery rather than prevention. A new film from @World_Forestry, makes the case for what actually works. Watch online or see it in Portland: youtube.com/watch?v=lAr79REf….
We just kicked off the Wildfire Ready Design Challenge, an interdisciplinary student competition sponsored by @PGE4Me, reimagining what wildfire-resilient neighborhoods could look like and feasibly implement. Learn more: climateandwildfire.org/cwi-p….

Prescribed fire could cut harmful air pollution by nearly half. Working with CWI, @UCLA students modeled the Teakettle Prescribed Burn and found it would have reduced PM2.5 emissions by 46% compared to the #GarnetFire that occurred instead.
CWI's Cricket Baldwin joined Ralph Bloemers & crew for a shoot day in Mt. Aukum & Folsom, CA last week to film new #wildfiremitigation content to help homeowners harden their homes before #fireseason.
