On our last morning in Paris we had Pasteis de Nata, a favorite pastry from Portugal. We are ready for our next adventure—the @MSU_Choirs trip to Portugal and Spain next summer. Join us!
Our last night in Paris finds us at the largest arena in Europe w/ 45k other fans for a @celinedion concert. What a way for our anniversary trip to end! Spectacular! ❤️🥂🇫🇷
Food tour thru Montmartre highlighted our last day in Paris. Everything was fabulous and of course we bought paintings there to be shipped home. 🇫🇷🥂❤️
First two days in Paris included sightseeing, shopping, dining and music. Sights included Notre Dame, Musee Carnavalet (history of Paris), and Musee Cluny (Middle Ages). Dinner on the ship Ducasse sur Seine is spectacular: both the food and the views! 🇫🇷❤️🥂
Up early to walk the boardwalk in front of our Belle Epoque hotel and see the sunrise over the English Channel. On to Paris today via Rouen to learn more about Joan of Arc. 🇫🇷
Today we hiked Etretat, one of the most beautiful spots in France, equivalent to the Cliffs of Dover. We did one trail together then Gail hiked a second trail alone (arrow shows her on top). ❤️
We have explored the Normandy beaches (Utah and Omaha), Pointe du Hoc, Sainte-Mere-Eglise, and Caen over the last 2 days as we focus on the invasion and reconquest of Normandy during WWII. Thanks Stewart and Thomas for expert guiding!
We also had a wonderful dinner at our favorite restaurant in Cabourg. We dined there 3 years ago while on a @MSU_Choirs trip.
40th anniversary trip to France going well. One highlight in Giverny was Monet’s garden which is itself a work of art and which he painted dozens of times. On to Cabourg.
