Questa roba deve finire all’istante. La raffineria va sanzionata, chiusa e basta.
For weeks, Irish politicians have dodged questions about the refinery in Ireland supplying Russia’s war machine. So I tracked down government minister Niall Collins at a farming show. He refuses to back sanctions & his stance was worse than I expected. Avoidance.

Caolan Robertson is probably the best investigative journalist on X right now - follow him! Also huge thanks to NAFO and Irish investigative journalists digging deeper into this case. Rusal needs to go!
Irish politicians are avoiding questions about Aughinish. Patrick O’Donovan refuses to answer my calls. The refinery is in his constituency He says the Russian owned plant is not connected to Russia’s war machine, without showing evidence. They want this to blow over. It won’t

KASPAROV: We’ve had 20 sanctions packages. How come Russian missiles that hitting Ukrainians and killing people every day are still mostly built with parts and components from sanctions list? How many criminal cases have been opened against sanctions violators? Practically none.

I’ve been investigating the russian refinery for days now and the story gets darker and darker. The shipments are sent to Siberia, smelted, and sold to the russian company ‘ASK’. This company distributes aluminium directly to Russia’s missile & drone manufacturers.

Kyiv was hit with a huge missile and drone attack this morning. Also this morning, another ship with 2,200 tonnes of alumina headed from Ireland to russia to build those weapons. This has to stop immediately.
Every day, ships leave this russian owned factory in Ireland straight for St Petersburg carrying thousands of tonnes of raw alumina for the war machine. There’s corruption everywhere. Locals tell me politicians are bought by oligarchs. Ireland is no longer militarily neutral.

While Russians are now hunting storks with drones for fun, the behavior of Ukrainians shows once again that they are truly nothing like Russians.
Whether it's nailing a dog's feet to a wall, strapping mice to kamikaze drones, or shooting horses for fun, the videos that constantly come in from this war prove Russians' innate love of torturing and killing isn't limited to people. Here, a stork barely escapes the wrath of a Russian drone with some evasive maneuvering.

Andrew Ng, co-founder of Google Brain and Coursera, on the worst career advice being given about AI right now: He doesn't mince words about what he's hearing from supposed experts: "As early as earlier this year and certainly last year, there are a few people advising others to stop learning to write code because AI will automate it." His reasoning is rooted in a historical pattern most people miss: "As something becomes easier, more people should do it, not fewer. When the world moved from assembly language to COBOL, there were actually articles saying, 'Well, we now have COBOL. Programming is so easier. Looks like we don't need programmers anymore.' But the opposite happened." Andrew believes the same thing is happening now with AI-assisted coding: "As we now have AI assisted coding, a lot more people should be coding. And I think the demand for software, custom software, has no practical ceiling. So the cost of software engineering comes down, which it is, we'll just get more and more great software out in the world." But here's where the advice gets uncomfortable for experienced engineers. @AndrewYNg is honest about what he's seeing on the ground: "It is true that a fresh college grad that is really on top of AI will outperform a full stack engineer with 10 years of experience that is still doing things they were back in 2022, 3 years ago before GenAI." However, there's a nuance most people miss when they hear that stereotype: "The other piece that is less well appreciated is the best engineers I know are not fresh college grads. They're actually very experienced engineers that deeply understand architecture and the conceptual framework of how to think about computers and additionally are on top of AI and on top of these AI skills."

Here's what you need to do. Stop what you were doing and watch this new film from @CaolanReports. Then you need to share it. What the russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant means to the rest of Europe, and what they're doing there, is truly scary shit.
This is Nikopol, a city in Ukraine where civilians are being hunted by drones. I investigated how russians are now launching those drones FROM Europe's largest nuclear power plant at the other side of the river. Russian aggression puts the entire planet at risk of nuclear disaster, it doesn't just stop at the borders of Ukraine. Since the Zaporizhzhia NPP was stormed, theres been almost zero international news coverage of the site, yet every day the situation deteriorates. The same soviet system of lies that led to the Chornobyl disaster is now running a nuclear facility twice the size. Every single environmental agency needs to start calling out the russian threat to our planet. The plant is now running on diesel generators that can fail at any moment. They have already failed 15 times since the full-scale invasion. This is Chornobyl on steroids. Whatever your views on the war in Ukraine, a nuclear disaster here doesn’t respect borders. It doesn’t care about your politics. What's happening in Nikopol is a warning.
