Recibimos en la Casa de Centroamérica al Director de la Organización Panamericana de la Salud (OPS), Dr. Jarbas Barboza, quien sostuvo un productivo intercambio con la Secretaria Ejecutiva de la CCAD, Dra. Marisol Castillo, en torno a iniciativas recientes con participación de la OPS y la CCAD, particularmente el Programa Regional Integrado de Cambio Climático, Calidad del Aire y Salud para Centroamérica y República Dominicana.
Durante el encuentro, realizado el 13 de julio, abordaron también potenciales oportunidades de cooperación en el marco de la Estrategia Regional Una Salud del SICA, recientemente aprobada por los ministros y ministras de salud, ambiente y agricultura de los países del SICA.
Finalmente, ambos funcionarios acordaron revisar el Memorándum de Entendimiento entre la OPS y la CCAD para actualizar los objetivos y actividades de cooperación conjunta para los próximos años.
El Director de la OPS estuvo acompañado por el Representante de la OPS - OMS El Salvador, Dr. Marcelo Kork, mientras que la Secretaria Ejecutiva de la CCAD estuvo acompañada por el Coordinador de la Línea Estratégica de Calidad Ambiental, Carlos González.
