my prediction is that the cad equivalent of blender is built on this and takes fusion’s core customer base within 24mo then cam next
Big news for CAD: SMLIB, NVIDIA's NURBS based kernel is finally open source today 🍻🎉 We have been working with SMLIB and its dev team for more than 20 years. It enables all our products: classcad.ch headless CAD, GUI, AI/MCP, PDM, etc github.com/NVIDIA-Omniverse/…

Chief Design Officer Design Studio of Canada I want to make it happen @Canada I’ll bring the best of this country together to form an incredible team to tackle Canada’s infrastructural problems, let’s do it. I don’t even care about being CDO, I just want the best of this country working together to make it better, please, our country deserves better.
which one are we thinking? Design Studio of Canada (DSC) or Canada Design Task Force (CDTF)

A lot of construction work is still done by hand simply because the machines to automate it don’t exist. That’s become a bottleneck for building things like solar farms, data centers, and other critical infrastructure. @cosmic_robotics is building those machines. Their robots have already installed 11,000 solar panels, and they just signed a major contract with the largest construction company in the country. They’re building the construction robots we’ll need on Earth today, and eventually on the Moon and Mars. @JamesAEmerick

Rare earths aren't actually rare, they're as abundant as copper. What's scarce is the ability to purify them, and that's what China controls: over 90% of it. @maglutheavy founders are borrowing a technique from biotech to modernize rare earth purification. S3 went inside their lab to see their unique take on chromatography.

We built high-throughput materials labs in Menlo Park to create a loop between experiments and models. The labs generate fresh data, the models learn from it, and then help us decide what to try next. Using only 1,300 H200s, plus months of our experimental data, we mid-trained and RL’d an open-source model to surpass GPT-6 Astra on our analysis benchmark. We call it Neon. This is real footage from our lab. We’re focusing first on hard problems in materials science, including superconductors, magnets, and semiconductor materials. Read our blog posts below.

We’re firing our thruster almost daily at this point. We’re collecting all the data we can to understand and fully characterize this system. Hotfires lasting three+ hours in our own chamber are becoming normal.

GPT-6 Astra can solve some seriously tricky spatial constraint tasks: from unlocking interlocked parts to threading a rope through three rings. Try it yourself now 👇 qinengwang-aiden.github.io/d…

The fellas at @MorganStanley are officially actuator pilled: “To give investors a sense of scale for the opportunity (globally here, not just the US), we proxy the actuator opportunity as motors + bearings + reducers, sizing the 2030 global TAM at $94bn in our base case...”

Three weeks into speedrunning robot learning. Explainers I wrote along the way will follow over next eight days, so follow me to catch them. And give me a shout if you're in robot learning. I'm in SF for two more weeks, so now's the time for a coffee.

This is so HARD
✨🇨🇳Chinese enterprises have independently developed this system, which is the world's first to install two 8.3 MW offshore wind turbines on a single floating foundation, with a total installed capacity of 16.6 MW. It generates 54 million kWh of green electricity annually, enough to power 30,000 three-person households for an entire year.

Build a humanoid robot yourself! 🪚 OpenArm is an open-source humanoid robot.  It comes with full CAD, control code, firmware, and simulation tools, everything needed to build, modify, and operate it. The arms are designed to be compliant and backdrivable. Teleoperation is supported, with force feedback and real-time gravity compensation so operators can guide the arm naturally. Super important, on the simulation side, OpenArm works with platforms like MuJoCo and Isaac Sim, letting developers test policies in virtual environments before running on hardware.  Assemble it yourself from a kit or get it prebuilt, the goal is accessibility for research labs, small teams, and enthusiasts. The project is run by @enactic_ai in Tokyo, Japan, and aims to lower the barrier for experimenting with dexterous manipulation. Let's put robotics in mainstream! 🔥🔥 🔗 Find the link here: github.com/enactic/OpenArm ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com
