I just realized the reason the beat for Busta Rhymes’ “Turn It Up/Fire It Up (remix)” is so incredibly 🔥 is because the drums are swung AF and the “Knightrider” sample is straight. Gonna try to rip off that approach tomorrow.

I love back-to-back electronic tracks that transition from one to the next, and a great example is @Classixx's "Rhythm Santa Clara" and "Dominoes". When "Dominoes" arrives with a solitary bass note, what a Moment.

LA producer and 1/2 of the essential electronic dance duo Classixx, Michael David ventures out under his own name with his new EP Talking Book World that balances balmy, lower tempo lounge music and euphoric digital jazz fusion. newcommute.net/feed/2023/6/5…

#morningwakeup A far cry from the disco and house feels of @Classixx, but vibing the lo-fi jazz and ethereal aspects of “Coral Sea,” from #Classixx founding member #MichaelDavid. @orienteer @cascine_ open.spotify.com/album/5YPE1…
