To have a video game soundtrack in the top 20 of an @officialcharts UK ALBUM CHART, and the top 10 of another, is an incredible achievement indeed! ❤️🎮🎶
Massive congratulations to @lorien_testard, Alice Duport-Percier and all at Clair Obscur @expedition33 @SandfallGames!
The Classic FM Hall of Fame countdown for 2025 begins! 💫
At No.300 it’s Koji Kondo’s score for The Legend of Zelda, the first of three video game scores to make this year’s chart. 👾

Warriors of Light and Darkness!
SQUARE ENIX and AWR Records are proud to present Distant Worlds VII: more music from FINAL FANTASY! As part of our celebration of @FinalFantasyXIV and @finalfantasyxvi , Distant Worlds VII contains the premiere recordings of orchestral concert arrangements of @SOKENsquareenix's compositions from FFXVI including “Away,” “Ascension,” “Find the Flame,” and “My Star!” Pieces from FFXIV include fan-favorite “Flow” sung by original vocalist @Amanda_Achen and “The Final Day” from ENDWALKER.
Produced and conducted by the legendary Maestro Arnie Roth, Distant Worlds VII also includes many works by the great godfather of FINAL FANTASY music, @UematsuNobuo, from 1987’s FINAL FANTASY I through 2024’s FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH. Original FINAL FANTASY X vocalist RIKKI lends her incredible talents to a stirring performance of “Suteki da ne” from FINAL FANTASY X, and famed NieR vocalist @emirevans delivers an ethereal performance of “Distant Worlds” from @FFXI_EN. The program is rounded out by our new all-orchestra recording of “Dancing Mad” from FINAL FANTASY VI and @midiplex's classic “Valse di Fantastica” from @FFXVEN.
This collection is not to be missed!

Video games, it’s video game scores you should vote for.
The Classic FM Hall of Fame, the world’s biggest poll of classical music tastes, is open for 2025. And we need your votes! 🎻
Symphony or concerto, opera or ballet music, film or video game score, vote for your three favourite pieces of music here 👉 halloffame.classicfm.com/202…
This is a smart move by Classic FM. A great way to get a completely new audience in and more support for VGM on the channel (and just ahead of this year's Hall of Fame vote). No mention of WHY they started playing VGM in 2012 in the news story though.

I'm late to the party on this, but surely, this is not the way anybody wants to listen your music, Nintendo. This does not integrate with my Spotify playlist. At all. Do better. Please.

Wait, wait, wait!
Everybody calm down!
There seems to be some misunderstanding, but I'm not retiring from video game music work!
I'm going to cut back a bit on my video game music work because I want to have more time to make the music I want to make. It would be difficult for me to take on the entire soundtrack of a video game because the time commitment for composing would be too long, but I would like to continue to work on jobs such as one theme song.
So, we are waiting for your offer to Nobuo Uematsu con TIKI!

If that was the last ever Distant Worlds show @RoyalAlbertHall, to finish on Aerith's Theme, the piece that kicked off this channel and the crusade for better recognition of video game music, was bittersweet indeed. Also, one of the most musically satisfying DW shows ever.
If this is the last ever @ffdistantworlds @RoyalAlbertHall then I'm glad I'm here to see it.

Hang on, so we’ve got @ffdistantworlds AND @sonicsymphtour both on in London this weekend? At the same time? In the same city? At the same time? Cool that it will be the city of VGM for one night. Is anybody going to both in one day?
Rest in peace Royal Albert Hall shows. We hope this is just a scheduling issue and not just a move to a cheaper venue.
