Nice news for the European ecosystem. And of course @ylechelle is in the room. ;-)
US-based @nvidia, the chipmaker behind the #AI infrastructure buildout, has announced planned minority #investments in four French startups: @doctolib, @entalpic_ai, Genesis AI, and Pigment. 🇫🇷 🤖 🚀

Super data set and a great service to Europe's ecosystem. Bravo @filipdames and the @CherryVentures team!
Today we launched Heartbeat.
Most data on European startups starts at the first funding round.
So we went earlier: 10,000 companies founded in 2025 and 2026, 9,000+ founders, 89 cities, tracked from incorporation to first institutional round.
Tell us who we missed!

60 seconds for Europe: We are launching a euro hype video edit competition!
Remember our hype video from last year? We want to 1000x that.
So we partnered with some bigger pro-European social media accounts to spread this far and wide. @NXT4EU @Frid45 @POTFES
Know an incredibly capable, young editor that loves to do short-form, high energy edits? Send this to them!

Europe invented democracy, industry, capitalism and much of modern science. We are a continent of high culture, deep history and extraordinary civilizational achievements.
Now Europe is being reshaped by crisis, war and geopolitical realignment. At the same time, a new generation of Europeans is building frontier technology, advancing science and creating new culture in pursuit of a stronger, more prosperous and unified Europe.
That energy deserves to be celebrated!
We want a high-energy, ~60-second edit about what inspires you about Europe and why you are excited for its future.
Be ambitious, observant, artistic, optimistic, unique — and above all, yourself.

Yesterday, 16 EU Member States - led by 🇦🇹, 🇩🇪 & 🇮🇹signed a Joint Declaration to end national gold-plating
@VDombrovskis "EU law should be implemented, not buried under extra national rules, reporting requirements and bureaucracy."
Notaries: For EU Inc, "national requirements will apply"
Member States, @EP_Legal , @vonderleyen , we hope you prevail ending the gold-plating and that no national requirements apply to EU Inc, that it goes notary-free.
We count on you so that the notary lobby doesn't get a special cartel gold-plating pass and we see you walk the talk.

Even Europe's best startups often end up legally incorporated in Delaware.
@SimonSchaefer, co-initiator of @euinc_petition, is pushing to fix that.
It means founders could go public without having to leave Europe first.
How the tables have turned.

"100 tech founders and investors told us just last week to get EU–INC right!"

Today @startupcltn we're launching Buying British Innovation, a new report on fixing government procurement in the UK.
Why?
Increasingly in these past couple of years we’ve been hearing from founders about the need to fix public procurement. And with stories like the one today about Atos' new HMRC contract this is clearer than ever.
Of course, part of this is about backing British tech. But this isn’t just self-interest, it’s about what we miss out on by failing to take advantage of the very best tech from our ecosystem.
If we want to ensure that British public services can succeed in an age where our country is in a tricky spot of rising taxes and rising demand for great public services - British tech startups are absolutely part of the answer.
@andyburnham agrees. His new administration has already signalled their strong intent to reform public procurement, with priority placed on ‘Buying British’ to create jobs and drive local and national economic growth.
So we've built a playbook of asks such as:
😤 Properly tracking pre-procurement processes so we can make sure that contracts aren't stitched up before startups get a look in.
👩💻 Better processes around internal tech tools to stop Government replicatign what's already happening in the private sector but worse.
🤝 Instigating proper ‘Startup-Friendly’ terms & requirements as default for all government frameworks to stop great tech being frozen out.
🏆 Speeding up the process of departmental Procurement Innovation Champions announced last year.
And these asks are just the start - we're building Pipeline - our new programme to directly connect founders with the folks in government ready to buy. If you want info get in touch...

🇪🇺 Europe’s financial model is broken.
European households hold trillions abroad and in deposits.
🔸 50% of European fund investment is allocated to US assets.
🔸 EU households keep 32% in cash and deposits vs 11% in the US.
🔸 Europe’s pay-as-you-go pension model is inefficient and fiscally unsustainable.
🔸 Deposit reform could shift up to €8tn into long-term market investment.
🔸 Funded pension reform could build €2.5–4.1tn in pension assets by 2040.
Europe needs a fully integrated financial and services market and radical pension reform.
Europe needs a radical sovereignty agenda to reverse decades of failure policies
