ALT Text reads: Young people are lead tenants in less than 1.5% of Victorian public housing. The massive gap between the amount of young people seeking help and social housing designated for young people is now a crisis. To the right of the text is an infographic that shows 1.5% of 100% of houses highlighted.

ALT What is a booster? The original vaccine doses teach your body to make antibodies to fight COVID-19. But over time, your body decreases the number of antibodies it makes. This is called waning immunity. Boosters work in a similar way to the primary vaccine course: they trigger your body to make more antibodies again, which protects you against new variants.

ALT Why do I need to get a booster? Not all vaccines give us life-long immunity, so boosters are a 'top up'. For example, tetanus and polio vaccines have recommended boosters depending on your risk of exposure. COVID-19 is still active in our community, and we're all still at risk of being exposed to it. So getting boosted is one key way we can stay protected and reduce our chances of getting seriously sick. Some immunocompromised people aged 12+ had a third primary dose in their primary vaccination course. This is not the same as a booster, and a booster is still recommended. A doctor can help you understand what this means for your health.
