Eight US states have sued OpenAI, and their main complaint is that ChatGPT collects too much data from children. Their proposed fix is age verification for every user, which means collecting far more data from everyone.
West Virginia wants “effective age assurance.” Montana wants OpenAI barred from processing personal information until it checks IDs. Idaho wants age verification “without limitation.”
People tell ChatGPT things they would never tell another person. The states want each of those conversations signed.
Gates is the enemy of education. But...not the only one!
He left our school district in a financial mess after his grant expired in 2016.
🚨Is "education" becoming the infrastructure for a social credit system?
For 25 years, the Gates Foundation has poured billions into redesigning schools, curricula, standards, and assessments -- and data systems that track all of it.
The foundation has now pledged at least another $1 BILLION to AI over two years, with 40% of it for education.
You could be forgiven for thinking "competency" means reading, writing, and arithmetic. But OECD and UNESCO frameworks include attitudes and VALUES.
When personal character is tracked as data, the implications for AI are staggering.
Who decides which values are coded as correct?
Will holding certain values open doors? Close them?
🎥 My video traces 25 years of Gates education & workforce grants in just over 3 minutes. Follow the money, state by state, year by year.
📖 PRE-ORDER my new broadside, The Human Cost of Artificial Education. The video shows how one foundation deployed its capital. The broadside asks what the ecosystem is building. (👇🏼Link in first reply.)
Let's see how this nanny state law plays out.
As expected, a federal appeals court has cleared the way for Florida to enforce protections keeping children under 14 off social media platforms covered by our law.
These companies design features to drive addiction. They should expect accountability when children are involved.
Florida set a standard, and Big Tech went to court to fight it.
Protecting kids takes more than asking companies to do better. Set the rules. Enforce them. Put children’s safety first.

The only way to effectively and successfully stop this from happening is to eliminate storing so much data on citizens.
Where is the facial geometry scanning data being stored? Was it part of the hack?
I hope you can answer these questions. I don't see anyone else asking about the facial geometry data.
FLHSMV was responsible for protecting the data it forcibly collects and FAILED.
It has also NOT announced if our facial geometry was hacked too.
Now FLHSMV is in reactionary mode to help stop abuse and misuse of the data it did not properly protect.
In accordance with Section 501.171, F.S., FLHSMV is issuing this substitute notice because it may not have current mailing addresses for impacted customers who no longer hold a valid Florida driver license or identification card or who previously had a vehicle titled in Florida.
FLHSMV has begun notifying individuals potentially affected by the data breach. To protect the identity of those impacted, the Department has partnered with Sontiq, Inc., a TransUnion company, to offer complimentary identity and credit monitoring services and $1 million identity theft insurance for 1 year. The Department takes the privacy and security of Floridians very seriously and is working diligently to implement further safeguards that will mitigate the risk of similar incidents occurring in the future. For more information, visit FLHSMV.gov/DataBreach.
Our government is not responsible enough to manage the sensitivity of the data they collect.
Do "document images" also include your facial geometry?
JUST IN: Florida driver licenses and ID cards were breached in a September security incident, the Florida Dept. of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says.
This includes document images and personal information.

Parents you might now be hearing about how you should not post photos of your kids, and keep their digital footprint minimized and their data private.
Just beware, if you protect their data (and you should), your school districts and K-20 education system will lay waste to your hard work.
Here is just one example: how they held sports ransom for digitized medical information.
