This answer was so fucking good: Talarico: “My decision to stay home for a week sent my opponent and his conspiracy theorists spiraling. I opened up social media and learned I had apparently dropped out of the race, had flown to a mental hospital in Ohio, that I had DIED. False claims got millions of views online - and this is an example of what I call the ‘rage economy.’ Billionaires who own these platforms get rich, we all get angry, and nobody’s life gets any better. Conspiracy theories don’t put food on the table, put gas in the tank, or improve our communities. I’m going to stay focused on the very real problems facing Texans.”

Under Greg Abbott, our property taxes have gone up 85% while he took millions in donations from billionaires and corporations. If he wanted to lower taxes, he had plenty of chances to do so in the last 12 years he's been governor.

wtf is this dangerous holy war shit. this is exactly what they accuse Islamic countries of sounding like
.@SECWAR "This is our first stop on what we are calling the SEND ME TOUR. If you know your Book of Isaiah, Chapter 6, Verse 8, the Lord said, 'Whom shall I send?' Isaiah says, 'Lord, I AM HERE. SEND ME...' For 250 years of this country, there have been men and women who RAISED THEIR RIGHT HAND and said, 'SEND ME.' SEND ME TO GO FIGHT THE REDCOATS. SEND ME TO GO FIGHT THE COMMUNISTS. SEND ME TO GO FIGHT THE ISLAMISTS. AND YOU ARE SAYING, SEND ME TO GO FIGHT WHATEVER THREATS THREATEN OUR NATION.'"

🚨 OBAMA ON AI: "If we are thinking about AI just in terms of how do we cure cancer or get better energy, you can do that without having agentic AI and having it just roaming free in the internet. The reason you are doing that is because you have to market a product that people will pay money for. That’s a misalignment between what our society needs and the commercial imperatives that these companies are facing, not because necessarily they’re trying to do bad things, but because they’ve got to justify these valuations. So, that’s one more reason why it is really important for us to have a competent government and a serious bipartisan conversation around this issue, and we have to do it fast. And I would encourage voters to pay attention to this. If somebody does not have a serious plan for how to deal with this, then they’re not meeting the moment, and you should probably look for somebody else."

Vivek Ramaswamy would vote to constrain and attach work requirements to Social Security. A work requirement for Social Security is like having a work requirement to receive a pension which you already worked for. It makes no sense but it illustrates the depravity of the GOP.

SCOTUS will soon consider the legality of bans on assault weapons under 2nd Amendment. The hypocrisy of originalism will be on display when we consider what an “arm” was in 1789 — a one-shot musket. The Bill of Rights is not a suicide pact. Gift article: nytimes.com/2026/09/19/us/po…

Yes Trump’s ban on news media outlets is unconstitutional, illegal, un-American, and authoritarian, and yes it will be struck down in court. It’s also extreme loser behavior. He’s doing this because his administration is an embarrassing failure that keeps getting less popular.

Republicans never talk about the fraudsters Trump has pardoned. Philip Esformes, the largest health care fraudster in U.S. history at $1.3 billion, had his sentence commuted. Trump runs crypto scams. His kids get government contracts and Russian oligarchs paying for wedding after parties. This is why Americans associate the word "corrupt" with the Republican Party now. The hypocrisy is staggering.
