September is California Pedestrian Safety Month. For our last pedestrian safety series, we will be going over vehicle speeds and how it impacts pedestrian survival rates in crashes. We hope this series has been informative on how vehicles can impact the safety of all road users.

Vehicle Speeds: Drivers should always follow the posted speed limit on all roads. While it may be tempting to speed up, it’s imperative to remember that the faster you’re driving, the more dangerous the consequences will be if you crash for any reason. The faster a person is driving, the lower the chances of survival are for any individual involved should there be a crash.

Velocidades de los Vehículos: Los conductores siempre deben respetar el límite de velocidad indicado en todas las carreteras. Aunque resulte tentador acelerar, es importante recordar que cuanto más rápido conduzca, más peligrosas serán las consecuencias si se choca por cualquier razón. Al manejar a velocidad mas rápido, se reduce las probabilidad de superviviencia de todos los individuos involucrado en el choque.

Circulate has advocated for a rail connection to the airport since 2018. The SANDAG Transportation Committee will consider next steps on Friday. It's critical that they continue to make progress on this project to deliver the airport connectivity that voters have been asking for!
