I spoke to Pep and told him, ‘This is what’s happening. I have to go to Valencia.’ He managed to stay inside for another 12 days, but eventually they had to deliver him at 25 weeks. He spent five months in hospital. I travelled to Valencia constantly. Sometimes I’d arrive at the hospital at 5 or 6 in the morning after a match, spend a couple of days there and return. I continued playing. I missed very few matches. I got sick from everything, though. I became really ill. Football helped me disconnect from what was happening. And that was also a period when I played very well. We got 100 points and won four trophies. Football helped me switch off for a while. But it was very difficult. They tell you that anything can happen. Thankfully, everything turned out well.” ❤️🙏⚽️
