Bus rider to me a wheelchair user: “Can I ask you a question? Why are there 2 wheelchair spaces on the bus? Isn’t 1 enough?” Me: “There are a lot of wheelchair users. Even 2 is not enough.” Some people may feel we have too much access. Disabled people know we need far more.

The "social model" of disability considers the “problem” to be society and the barriers it places in front of those with disabilities. ➡️ It’s these barriers, not the person, that must change. #EmpoweredUs
In case you need a reminder, your chronic illness or disability does not make you a burden on those around you or society.
