Is the AI trade starting to crack? 📉
The recent sell-off isn't just about valuations. Investors are beginning to question the economics behind the AI infrastructure boom:
• CoreWeave bonds have fallen below 80 cents on the dollar, with yields approaching 15%.
• Data center debt is under pressure as construction costs, financing needs and execution risks rise.
• Gartner estimates AI data centers will need $8.5T in revenues by 2030 to justify their economics, versus just $3.6T in projected spending flowing to providers.
My take: AI demand is real, but that doesn't mean every AI investment will generate attractive returns.
The next phase of the AI trade may be less about who spends the most and more about who can actually monetize that spending.
The AI revolution isn't over. The market is simply becoming more selective.
$AMD finally joined the $1 trillion club.
Not bad for a company I've been told is “too late to AI” about 47 different times. 😂
Still holding.

What’s a stock you know is probably too expensive but you’d still buy more if it dropped 20% tomorrow?
I’ll start: $AXON 👀
Closed my $FLNC position at a loss a few days ago.
Today it's getting crushed after another guidance cut.
Did I see this coming? Absolutely not. 😂
But I'll happily take the rare win on timing.
Tech CEOs:
2023: AI is the future.
2024: We need more GPUs.
2025: We need more data centers.
2026: WE NEED MORE POWER.
Also 2026:
“Guys… maybe we should slow AI down a little.” 😂
Perfectly normal industry. Nothing to see here.
Unpopular opinion:
You don't need to find the next Nvidia.
Finding 5–10 great companies and simply not selling them too early is already hard enough.
Are you bullish enough on $UBER ?
CEO Dara Khosrowshahi just bought $10M worth of shares with his own money.
Days earlier, COO Andrew Macdonald bought $5.3M.
$15M+ of insider buying in less than a week.
Insiders sell for many reasons.
They usually buy for one. 👀
Oil is flirting with $100 again.
Meanwhile, the stock market has spent the last few months basically saying “Middle East? Never heard of it.”
That worked while higher oil was just another headline.
If $100+ becomes the new normal, inflation and rates may suddenly matter again.
This is probably one of the macro risks the market has been far too comfortable ignoring.
Portfolio currently includes:
$AMD +326%
$META +141%
$ELF +80%
and also…
$CPNG -28%
$FLNC -50%
So yes, I clearly know exactly what I’m doing.
The funny thing about investing is that both winners and losers test you.
One makes you want to sell too early.
The other makes you wonder if you should have sold months ago.
Conviction vs stubbornness. Still figuring that one out.
“Demand for our custom AI accelerators and networking continues to be very strong.”
— Broadcom CEO Hock Tan
AI semiconductor revenue: +221% YoY.
$AVGO : -3% pre-market.
Apparently +221% growth is disappointing now 😛
$AXON is down ~15% over the past week.
I’m still up around 35% on my position, but that’s almost irrelevant.
The interesting question is when a stock you like drops 10–15%, do you see a warning sign or an opportunity to add?
For me, it depends entirely on whether the thesis changed.
Price ≠ thesis.
$AXON
Apparently, Earth isn't enough for #Nvidia anymore. 😂
SpaceX plans to launch Nvidia-powered AI data centers into orbit starting in 2027.
Yes. Data centers. In space. 🚀
To be fair, AI is starting to run into some very earthly problems:
• Not enough power
• Not enough grid capacity
• Massive cooling requirements
• Increasing demand for land
So naturally, the solution is… leave Earth. There are obviously a few minor details to figure out. Like cooling GPUs in a vacuum. 😅
But jokes aside, I find the whole idea fascinating.
$NVDA went from gaming GPUs → AI chips → AI infrastructure → potentially powering computers orbiting the planet.
At this point I'm afraid to ask what's next.
AI’s next big opportunity might not be another chatbot.
It might be the physical world.
Factories, robots, warehouses, logistics and defense. Nvidia expects its physical AI-related revenue to grow from ~$10B to $100B over the next decade. That's a 10x!!
We spent the last few years investing in the infrastructure needed to train AI.
Now I’m starting to think about the next layer:
Who wins when AI starts moving things, building things and operating in the real world? A theme I want more exposure to.
Any ideas?
How many stocks do you own?
I’ve become less interested in owning 50 stocks just for the sake of diversification.
I’d rather own 15–25 businesses I actually understand, follow every quarter and have real conviction in.
Diversification protects you from being wrong. But too much diversification can also protect you from being right.
Still learning where that line is.
What’s your number?
