Global National reports @Dave_Eby phoned senior political reporter Keith Baldrey to clarify his comments linking conservative politics to national unity and the CFB Wainwright tragedy.
Eby says he had "no intention" to use the soldiers' deaths politically and will address the controversy directly at a campaign stop in the Okanagan later today.

In 2023 Pete Fry and Lucy Maloney councillors who think other people’s schedules are optional rode in Critical Mass like it was a cute photo op. Two politicians blocking streets, slowing the city to a crawl so they could feel like part of the scene.
While they pedaled for the cameras, regular people sat stuck in traffic burning gas and missing work. Appointments delayed. Shifts lost. Ambulances forced to sit idle behind a wall of bikes. Every minute they took for their ride was a minute someone else paid for in time, money, and stress.
This is what their idea of leadership looks like: treat the road like a stage, make taxpayers absorb the cost, then smile for the post.
