The idea that pigs are somehow “toxic” is a modern claim that doesn’t really match the science. Pigs are actually naturally clean animals. They roll in mud because they don’t sweat efficiently and need another way to cool themselves down. And with modern commercial pork, trichinosis is extremely rare. But for Christians, there’s an even bigger point. Jesus addressed food directly in Mark 7, teaching that it isn’t what goes into a person that defiles them, but what comes out of them. The passage goes on to say that in doing so, He declared all foods clean. Then you have Acts 10 and Paul’s writings reinforcing that Christians aren’t bound by the Old Testament dietary laws. So if someone personally doesn’t want to eat pork, that’s obviously their choice. But claiming Christians are violating the Bible simply by eating pork ignores a pretty major part of the New Testament.
