To give Thiel a free speech award and a platform to spout this kind of nonsense, one can only assume Doepfner agrees. Telegraph is in peril of becoming even more unhinged

Some wonderful news this morning. It has been confirmed that the required funding for the police investigation into the post office scandal has been given. Now for accountability. True to your word @andyburnham Very much appreciated.

🚉 A wider gateline, new passenger information screens and an upgrade to CCTV has been installed at #PeckhamRye. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Fifty per cent more ticket gates have been installed by Network Rail at the @SouthernRailUK station - and customers can now benefit from an extended gateline featuring two additional ticket barriers, helping to reduce queuing on both sides of the gateline and enabling faster movement between the booking hall and platforms. ℹ️ New passenger information screens have also been installed further along platforms 1 and 2 to encourage customers to move along and use the full length of the platform. This will help make journeys easier and reduce crowding both on platforms and onboard trains. 🎦 CCTV has also been upgraded at the station. More information: networkrailmediacentre.co.uk…

Andrew, I’m disabled. I work and pay tax, and I know first-hand the barriers disabled people face just trying to work and live independently. PIPs and UC aren’t a moral failing. Challenge the barriers and poverty, not the people forced to live with them.
Tories will block long-term unemployed spending their benefits on alcohol, cigarettes and gambling. A vote winner which will be cheered by the silent majority who pay their taxes

I find it baffling… Order level boarding trains… ban people that require level boarding. Genuinely can’t make it up 🙃

For the first time, an AI agent has hacked into a government website. Australia's prime minister revealed that an OpenAI agent accessed a Medicare statistics portal in June but the company only told them this month. OpenAI said it discovered its models took actions it did not intend. Anthony Albanese said an inquiry will examine whether the company can be criminally charged.

BREAKING: Reform UK would win less seats than both Labour and the Conservatives if a general election were to be held today in a dramatic reversal of fortunes for Nigel Farage’s party, a YouGov MRP has found The new large-scale seat by seat MRP by YouGov suggests the UK is currently heading for a hung Parliament with Labour as the largest party with 241 seats The Conservatives would be in second place with 130 seats, better than their result in the 2024 general election, while Reform would be pushed into third place with 123 seats If replicated at the next election the poll suggests that both Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman, who deserted the Tories to join Farage, would lose their seats to their old party Even if Reform and the Tories could agree a pact they would still not have enough seats to form a majority coalition government However Labour would also struggle to govern having lost 162 of the 403 seats that it holds at present It would have to rely on both the Liberal Democrats, predicted to win 71 seats, and the Greens, on nine, or one of the nationalist parties in order to command a majority in the Commons It marks a stark reversal of Reform’s fortunes compared to a YouGov MRP a year ago: September 2026 Seats Labour: 241 Conservative: 130 Reform UK: 123 Lib Dem: 71 SNP: 40 Plaid: 15 Green: 9 Other: 3 September 2025 Seats Reform UK: 311 Labour: 144 Lib Dem: 78 Conservative: 45 SNP: 37 Green: 7 Plaid: 6 Others: 3 thetimes.com/article/17f7462…

Disabled investment banker raises lack of accessibility of the square mile at the City of London event. He said the lifts at Farringdon Station are often out of service and he has ongoing issues getting to work. It’s not rocket science, if you want disabled people in work, fix transport accessibility.

I just used Edward VII’s lift at the Old Bailey. I’m sure he doesn’t mind. It was built 1907 and still looks pretty much like when they built it.
