Shoutout to our favorite pumpkin decorators! 🎃 - Christ Church Youth Ministries and Scouts collaborated to carve and paint the pumpkins that were used as decoration at Trunk or Treat. The pumpkins were purchased from the Watkins United Methodist pumpkin patch, which supports many missions here in Louisville!

Tomorrow, the Christ Church carillon bells will join places of worship across Louisville in ringing for one minute to remember the 15 lives lost in the UPS Flight 2976 crash one year ago. At 5:15 pm, we invite you to join our community in observing one minute of silence in honor of those who died, in support of their loved ones, and in remembrance of all whose lives have been forever changed by this tragedy. All are invited to meet in the Memorial Garden at 5:10 pm to wait for the ringing of the bells. Regardless of your location, we hope that you'll join us in solidarity. May this shared moment remind us that no one in our community need grieve alone.

Hear a message from Rev. Amy Chapman as we prepare for All Saints Sunday. "We may not see the whole picture, especially when we're grieving, but Scripture invites us to keep looking, and to trust in God's promises." We're looking forward to worshipping with you tomorrow on this special day in the life of the church. 🕊

"Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes where Eden's flowers bloom, by waters calm, o'er troubled sea, still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me." On this #worshipwednesday, we're sharing the Chancel Choir's performance of "He Leadeth Me," arranged by our own Daniel Blosser and featuring Susie Kinman (flute) and Ben Williams (oboe). May we be reminded that no matter where we find ourselves today, God is ever-present with us.

As we prepare for All Saints Sunday, we remember the great cloud of witnesses who have gone before us. This Sunday, handmade needlepoint doves will be given to the families of Christ Church members who have passed this year. Debbie Yackey is instrumental in organizing this "quiet ministry" that works all year preparing the doves. Additionally, she beautifully crafted a new All Saints banner this year. Thank you Debbie, and all those who have carefully and lovingly prepared this year's doves. 🕊☁

In a world of systems that worship power and wealth, the nature of God's kingdom challenges us to see that only one rule matters: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. Hear more from Sunday morning at ccum.net/podcasts!

All treats, no tricks at our Bridge communities! 🎃 Members of the Open Minds Sunday School class sponsored the Third Thursday of the Month Meal at The Bridge at Fourth Avenue last week, giving it their own spooky touch with Jack-O-Lantern mandarin oranges. Thank you to those class members who provided this needed service for our Bridge community!
