I’m deeply disturbed by the attempted attack at the Hindu temple in Aurora. A place of worship should be a sacred and safe place where families can gather and practice their faith without fear.
This kind of hate and violence has no place in our country. I’m grateful Congressman Krishnamoorthi, his family, and everyone at the temple are safe. The criminal who attempted to carry out this heinous and despicable crime must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Oct 7 is a day to remember the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust by Hamas terrorist. 1,200+ people murdered. STOP using today to talk about anything other than that day. We don’t need the “but” statements, the caveats and obligatory pivot to everything else.

I visited Israel in the wake of the October 7 attack and viewed the devastating wreckage firsthand. Hamas terrorists committed unspeakable acts of savagery — refusing to spare even women or young children. Today, three years later, we commit to remembering that harrowing day and to honoring the 1,200 lives lost.

A few weeks ago, I visited Israel and met with survivors of October 7th. Three years later their scars—and the world’s—live on.
Today and every day, we remember those we lost and support those who are trying to rebuild in the wake of terrorism. Congress must also continue to stand with our democratic ally Israel, put a stop to antisemitism and violence everywhere, and build a future where Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and dignity.

On behalf of the people of Israel, I thank the Saudi people for the warm welcome and kindness they showed the Israeli passengers rescued this morning.
God willing, may peace come to us and to all the people of Israel.

So after all the pre-tournament criticism, angst, and fearmongering (much done with anticipatory glee), the 2026 World Cup was a historic success. Incredible games, record crowds/viewers, and a cultural phenomenon. People were safe, entertained, and joyous. Visitors discovered, and Americans were reminded, just how wonderful our country is, all through the lens of soccer. I’m so happy for, and proud of, my country. Best World Cup ever. Thank you, America. 🇺🇸

42 million people watched the US-Belgium game on Fox — 30 million — and Telemundo — 12 million. Staggering number — that’s more people than have ever watched a college football, NBA, MLB or NHL game in history. Only the NFL playoffs can beat it this century.

They left home as boys 8 decades ago to go out and save the world. Last night they sat at the WWII Memorial together and celebrated their country's 250th. Still heroic.
