Pembina CEO on the company’s rationale for becoming the only private-sector member of the West Coast pipeline consortium: “Clearly, we’ll need to have a regulatory approval with conditions under which we can construct. We need to have a competitive cost estimate, and then we’ll need a certain level of volumes to underpin the investment.
Based on what we are seeing and hearing, we do think volumes are going to be there, so we are pretty optimistic.”

If I were advising on deal structure or capital allocation, I'd treat Bridger as the base case for 2028–2029 egress and the B.C. line as a 2030s optionality play, worth the consultation spend with First Nations and route scoping now, but not worth front-loading capex until Bridger's FID and shipper commitments clarify how much residual production growth actually needs a Pacific outlet.
The risk of doing nothing on B.C. is ceding pricing leverage back to U.S. refiners permanently; the risk of rushing it is stranding $100 billion in capital if upstream activity doesn't materialize. Net-net: Bridger is the right "yes" today, but Alberta would be strategically naive to let Trump's signature cool the political momentum behind West Coast access

The Hormuz stoppage numbers are just enormous and are legitimately hard for people to fully appreciate.
For perspective, for the past month the oil market has been operating without roughly one and a half Saudi Arabias.

Since the start of the crisis, I have covered the basics on the following physical oil from an Asian refiner's perspective:
1) Crude
2) Naphtha + LPG
3) Mogas
4) Jet fuel
5) Diesel
6) Fuel oil
Links in the thread below for easy reference.
I hope this will be a helpful resource for many out there who do not understand how crude gets converted to a refined product, and therefore why the pricing and availability of different fuels will be impacted quite significantly for a bit longer than you would have anticipated.
