A sad start to the week learning that Simon France died over Easter. He was a great lecturer, a fine lawyer, and a very good judge. Mostly he was a nice man who cared about doing the right thing.

Deeply saddened to hear this afternoon that my former Crimes lecturer and @VicUniWgtn colleague Justice Simon France has resigned from CA because of ill health. Simon has given a lot to the legal community and NZ (and also to me)- I hope he gets rewarded with a full recovery
