Preseason doesn’t matter and don’t let them convince you it does.
They’re just being opportunists
Real games soon.

we just gotta eliminate the term TO Suppression. I appreciate rapm-ology and the stuff it’s given us but holy fuck are we so serious if we’re just boiling all of a players process down to “he suppresses TOs” without acknowledging that he doesn’t create any good shots… my lord
Man was tweeting me about Duncan Robinson before this

None of them ngas you bringing up are main players for championship teams so its irrelevant.
The Knicks can simply pay their guys if they want btw. Reigning champs ducking the apron is wack af.
Real Madrid makes you play on 1 yr deals after you turn 30

NBA teams don’t give a shit about open spot up shooters.
They do value multi positional defenders that rebound and make plays for others

ngl despite all these advanced defensive metrics, i'm inclined to regard the simple stop% as the single best measure and proxy of defensive productivity
at the end of the day forcing a stop removes any potential factor of variation, it's a backbone of a good d, and when you stack multiple players with high stop% rates, it puts the entire setup in motion
stop% largely cuts through the lineup and small sample noise, just be capable of distilling defensive environments that, for one reason or another, actively suppress (i.e. Illinois) or encourage (i.e. Seton Hall) defensive playmaking

the concept of drapm (or rapm in general) farming is the most noteworthy here
this basically answers the question of ‘do you simply look at these numbers and decide which player is better’ and the answer is that you shouldn’t do that blindly
I didn't think yall rated Pascal Siakam.. no screening/rebounding equity, no made free throws, damn sure no defense, just scavenging transition looks (why'd efficiency drop this year bud?🙁#hali), Rico Hines bagwork buckets, and DRAPM farming off Obi Toppin and Jarace Walker.
